Are you ready for the other sure thing?

Taxes are something that you can amend, they come around every year, and you have a chance to get them right if you at first get them wrong. While everyone is preparing for taxes and spending time on something that is not lasting, very few people spend dedicate the same effort to get ready for the other sure thing.... death.

Get it right!

If you fear the tax man, we should fear even more the one who can kill both soul and body. The bible tells us that God is able to kill both our body and our soul, so we should listen to what He has to say to us.

None of us are good enough to make it through to have eternal life. "For all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God." Romans 3:23. You can't give enough, you can't serve enough, you can't be nice enough. One sin is all that it takes for God to be forced to send you to judgment for ever, and each of us has committed many sins. And a partial life of goodness does not offset the sin we lived earlier. So we all are destined to be sent to hell. A real place of torment.

But God has provided a way to escape this. From the earliest of time, He had a plan to reconcile us with Himself. He had a way, through His Son Jesus, who would pay the price for us. All we have to do is turn from our sin, choose to accept the payment, and then identify with Jesus' payment through dying to ourselves. Which means making God the Lord of our life and showing that by living for God and others ahead of ourselves.

Don't leave it until its too late.

There are a couple hundred thousand people who die everyday. Our day is coming. Do not leave getting ready for death and preparing for the life afterward. Do you want to do it in heaven or in hell?
